Overnight Traffic Stoppages on Thruway between Selkirk and Albany as part of National Grid Maintenance on September 5

THRUWAY AUTHORITY ANNOUNCES OVERNIGHT TRAFFIC STOPPAGES AS PART OF NATIONAL GRID MAINTENANCE ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that on Friday, September 5, National Grid will be replacing utility poles at milepost 139.8 between exits 22 (Selkirk) and 23 (Albany). This work will require intermittent road closures on both the northbound and southbound roadways during the overnight hours.

The maintenance work is set to begin at approximately 10 p.m.

There are five planned stoppages that will last approximately 10 minutes each.  The project is expected to be completed in four hours.

State Police will conduct rolling stops and the Thruway Traffic Supervisor will also be onsite coordinating with National Grid and State Police.

Electronic Message Boards will be used to alert motorists approaching the stoppages.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists’ patience during this necessary work.
