On Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, starting at 1:45 p.m., Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will perform a full test of the RPIAlert system. The RPIAlert system is used to provide information quickly to the community during an emergency, and could help save lives, RPI officials said.
During the test, the RPIAlert system will sound a siren that can be heard across campus and extending into the neighboring community. The siren test will last about five minutes. The system will also send text messages, voicemails, and emails to members of the RPI campus community.
Visit http://alert.rpi.edu to learn more. During an emergency, this website will be a primary source of information for the RPI community, the news media, and our neighbors in the community.
