DEC Forest Rangers, assisted by the Lake George Fire Department, have contained a fire, an estimated 1.5 acres in size, on the side of French Mountain in the Town of Queensbury, Warren County.
DEC staff responded immediately when the fire was first reported on Wednesday, September 24, at 4:25 p.m. DEC Dispatch in Ray Brook received a report of smoke on French Mountain.
The smoke was highly visible from the Village of Lake George and I-87. The fire was on private lands and no public trails were impacted. There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
