WHAT: Assemblymember John T. McDonald III will be hosting a Heroin/Opiate Education Forum to provide constituents with an opportunity to learn more about the ongoing heroin/opiate crisis. Participants include Sheriff Craig Apple, Catholic Charities Executive Director Keith Brown, The Addictions Care Center of Albany Executive Director Keith Stack, WOH Government Solutions Vice President Lisa Wickens, and Assembly Member John McDonald.
The speakers will be discussing legislation that recently passed in New York State and the ongoing efforts being made in the fields of enforcement, education and treatment. They will address methods and programs that have been effective and will discuss additional programs that are needed in each field. At the conclusion of the forum, Keith Brown of Catholic Charities will be available to provide Naloxone Treatment Kits to those interested.
