Sara Moore Pleads Guilty to Woodside Drive Murder

District Attorney P. David Soares announced Monday that SARA MOORE, 35, of Wynantskill, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony, before the Honorable Stephen Herrick in Albany County Court this morning for murdering a 79 year old man at his residence on Woodside Drive in the City of Albany.

On February 6, 2014 at a residence on Woodside Drive in the City of Albany, MOORE intentionally caused the death of victim Richard Englander.

MOORE remains in custody in the Albany County Correctional Facility until October 14, 2014, when she will be sentenced to 25 years to Life in State Prison.

“Mr. Englander was a great man who did so much for the Albany community. With this plea, it is our hope that his family and friends can put this nightmare behind them and begin to remember him as the conscientious citizen he was,” commented DA David Soares.

Special Victims Unit Bureau Chief Shannon Sarfoh and Financial Crimes Unit Bureau Chief Daniel Lynch are handling the prosecution of this case.
