Dear Members and Friends of RCHS,
Fall is a great time to explore local history and RCHS has wonderful programs for you.
We have several programs inspired by our new main exhibition, At the Corner of Second & State. From next Tuesday's Hidden History to a new event announced forSaturday November 8th, you can learn more about the historic buildings that surround this major intersection.
Want a different spin on Halloween? RCHS has two programs that capture the spirit of the season without too much gore. This Saturday the 25th is our last History Walk of 2014 and it's our popular Murder & Mayhem tour. Discover some of Troy's more lurid stories. Then on November 1, All Souls Day, we honor the memory of the family members who died in the Hart-Cluett House with a special Death & Dying tour. Details for all our programs are below.
Finally, we are 1 week away from our Annual Gala. This is RCHS's major fundraiser of the year. We are delighted to be honoring The Troy Savings Bank Charitable Foundation with the Hart-Cluett Award. We have some wonderful auction items, including a week's stay on Cape Cod, an overnight at a Long Island B&B plus beautiful necklaces, artwork and antiques. Check out our facebook page for some highlights.
It's not too late to purchase your tickets. Call me or visit the gala page of our website,www.rchsonline.org/gala Thank you to our Gala Sponsors and Supporters and Honorary Committee members who make this a fabulous success each year.
See you at the museum.
