RPI Vice President for Enrollment and Dean for Admissions Dr. Paul Marthers Resigns

From an email sent to the RPI community, as posted on Reddit:

"I write to inform you of the resignation of Dr. Paul Marthers as vice president for enrollment, and dean for undergraduate and graduate admissions, effective October 10, 2014. Dr. Marthers has accepted a position as Associate Vice Chancellor for Strategic Enrollment Management and Student Success for the 64-campus, 465,000-student State University of New York (SUNY) system.
Building on a strategic shift in enrollment strategy that began in 2005, Dr. Marthers oversaw the implementation of innovative programs that have enhanced significantly the Institute’s enrollment function. Over the past five years, Dr. Marthers led enrollment staff members, who recruit year-round across the nation and the world, to the achievement of a record number of undergraduate applicants in 2014. Additional records reached in 2014 include our selectivity, the average SAT scores for the freshman class, and the percentages of underrepresented students and women.
In terms of graduate admissions, Dr. Marthers partnered with the vice provost for graduate education to increase the academic quality, gender diversity, and geographic diversity of incoming graduate students.
We will be commencing a national search for a vice president for enrollment, and dean for undergraduate and graduate admissions, and I will name an interim vice president shortly.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, and our faculty, students, staff, and administration, I wish Dr. Marthers the best of luck in his future professional endeavors."
