Snow Emergency Called in Troy Starting Tuesday Morning

Rosamilia announces City of Troy Snow Emergency

 

TROY, NY – Mayor Lou Rosamilia has announced a Snow Emergency will be in effect for the City of Troy beginning at 8 am on Tuesday, February 3. Residents are asked to adhere to the Snow Emergency Plan to ensure effective clearing of City roadways.

 

During the first 24 hours of the Snow Emergency, parking will be prohibited on the odd numbered side of designated snow emergency streets. During the following 24 hours (beginning 8 am Wednesday, Feb. 4), parking will be prohibited on the even numbered side of designated Snow Emergency streets.

 

In the Central Downtown Business District (Federal St. to Ferry St. / Front St. to 7th Ave), there will be no even/odd side snow emergency regulations. However, normal parking restrictions will be strictly enforced (these restrictions begin at 4 am).

 

Designated Snow Emergency streets include: the Boulevards (101st to 125th), 103rd (River Street to 8th Avenue), 108th Street, 112th Street, 116th Street, 15th Street, 1st Street, 2nd Avenue, 2nd Street, 3rd Street, 4th Street, 5th Avenue (101st to 125th), 8th Street, Brunswick Road, Burdett Avenue, Campbell Avenue, Collins Avenue, Congress Street, Desson Avenue, Division Street, Ferry Street, Hoosick Street, Lansing Avenue, Liberty Street, North Lake Avenue, Oakwood Avenue, Pawling Avenue, Pinewoods Avenue, River Street, South Lake Avenue, Spring Avenue, Stow Avenue, Tibbits Avenue (lower), Tibbits Avenue (upper), Walker Avenue, Washington Street and Winter Street.

 

Designated Snow Emergency streets will be posted today, Monday, February 2, reminding vehicle owners of these restrictions.

 

Streets not designated as Snow Emergency streets will still be provided with normal plowing services.

 

During the Snow Emergency, recycling collection will be suspended and residents are asked not to place regular garbage in the right of way.

 

Vehicles in violation of the Snow Emergency guidelines will be ticketed and towed. If you are ticketed or towed, it is asked that you retrieve your vehicle within 48 hours.
