From a press release about the Watervliet Housing Authority Newsletter for September 2014:
Heroin/Opiate Community Education Forum
On September 17th we will be holding a community forum on Heroin/Opiate here at the Joslin meeting room (behind our office) at 7pm. This forum is being coordinated by Assemblymember John McDonald. Those helping to educate us on the problem will be Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple, Keith Stack, of the Addictions Care Center and Keith Brown from Catholic Charities. We’ll also have out our members of the police department attending. Please don’t miss this very important meeting on a growing and major issue.
Back-Packs
Thanks to Siemens Industry for dropping off 10 backpacks to give out to our children. It was very much appreciated.
Coats for the Community
Once again we are working with the Ladies of Charity to provide coats to the communities of Cohoes-Watervliet-Green Island-Waterford. We NEED coats, especially children sizes. If you have any please drop them off a the Watervliet or the Cohoes housing officies.
If you NEED a coat, you can go to Cohoes Senior Center at 10 Cayuga Plaza on October 17th and 18th or any time after those dates at the Watervliet Civic Center to pick one out.
