THE CITY OF ALBANY PRESENTS A SPECIAL PREVIEW OF KEN BURNS FILM “THE ROOSEVELTS: AN INTIMATE HISTORY”
A free preview and discussion will take place at Albany City Hall on Thursday, September 11 at 12 p.m.
ALBANY, NY – As part of the ongoing monthly series of community events in Albany City Hall Rotunda, the City of Albany and WMHT will present a special free preview and discussion of Ken Burns’ new film, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, on Thursday, September 11 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
The latest film from acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History explores the lives of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, interweaving their individual stories into a single narrative chronicling one of the most prominent and influential families in American politics. The public is invited to watch a preview and join in a discussion with Andrew Morris, an Associate Professor at Union College, where he teaches 20th Century U.S. Political History, including courses on “The Roosevelt Era” and “The Depression and the New Deal.” Morris has authored numerous works on the history of U.S. social policy, including The Limits of Voluntarism: Charity and Welfare from the New Deal through the Great Society.
