District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that KEIONA HINES, 19, of Albany, was sentenced to (3) years in State Prison, to be followed by 1 ½ years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court this morning.
On July 10, 2014, HINES pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony.

On May 8, 2014, at approximately 3:00pm while at the corner of First Street and North Lake Avenue in the City of Albany, HINES did attempt to forcibly steal a Samsung Galaxy phone from a victim while being aided by another participant in the crime. While attempting to steal phone, the participants punched and kicked the victim, a 17 year old female, and caused physical injuries which required medical treatment, including lacerations to the mouth and face, contusions to the eyes and face, and a sprained tendon in her foot.
Based on HINES’ criminal history, she was sentenced to a determinate sentence of 3 years in State Prison.
Assistant District Attorney Steven Sharp of the Major Offenses Unit prosecuted this case.
